How to pay your utility bills using GCASH

GCASH is the new e wallet that is available at your own convenience, it is powered by Globe Telecom. One of the leading provider here in the Philippines.

GCASH has a lot of things to offer to its consumer like paying your bills, reloading, money transfer and buying movie tickets, you can also use it to buy load for your beep card and some online transaction and others.

Actually, I am now into this kind of wallet.  I am now funding my GCASH so I can pay for my utility bills and of course loading my mobile phone, and paying for my groceries at my favorite Puregold supermarket.  I was adamant at first because I not a techy person, I was afraid that my money will get lost in the process or I might be thinking that I already paid the bills and they did not pay it to the merchant and I am more into going to the bayad centers or establishment to settle my bills.  But because of the traffic and heat and the lack of time when beating the due date I am now converted to using the GCASH wallet.  It turns out it is more convenient and aside from that I am enjoying the rebates. :D

As a frugal mom, who doesn't want that?  Even if my rebates are small at least they gave back right?

Before you get enticed, first things first you need a Globe simcard or Touch mobile sim card and a data to upload GCASH app at the appstore.  After uploading, install it to your mobile phone and voila.  You now have a GCASH app.  But wait that doesn't end there.  You have to activate it by sending your picture and your ID and a GCASH agent will call your mobile phone for verification.  From there your number will get verified and you can now Cash in or cash out.  Cashing -In is like depositing money to your GCASH account.  While Cashing-Out is withdrawing money from you GCASH account when somebody sends you money or when you want to get your money if you want it cold cash.  It will now serve as your virtual wallet.  Where your transaction is literally cashless all you need is your phone with data so you can access your account anytime.

For me, I usually Cash-In at 7-11 because I don't pay anything even if I place Php5000.00 that is the maximum amount that I cashed in so far.  That is my allotted budget for my utilities each month.  Some times I just add up some more if I want to do my groceries.

Now that you have money on your GCASH you can now transact virtually.  You can now pay your bills or other utilities.  I've paid my Meralco, Manila Waters, Globe, all you need is your account number.  You just make it sure to pay on or before your due date or they will not accept it anymore.  I haven't tried paying my credit cards through this just yet because my dues is kinda hefty and I usually pay in the banks.  But if you want you can use the app to pay it as well.  After the transaction there is an option to e-mail you the transaction record because they don't issue receipts. So I suggest you do so at the same time I screenshot my transaction for record purposes.

The great part about this is you will get rebates from paying through them.  So thumbs up for that.

What about you are you a GCASH User?  Tell me how you are using it?
