Asthma Season

Yesterday I took my daughter to the Pediatrician to have her cough checked because its been a couple of days now and I can hear her wheezes.  Amidst the conservative treatment of salbutamol nebulization and drinking ASCOF(an herbal medicine for cough).  She is just relieved temporarily that is why I decided to go to the Pedia and have her check up. According to her Pedia asthma season is back.  And asthmatic children are at risk of Bronchial Asthma in Acute Exacerbation.  She prescribed us with combivent nebules for every 6 hours and had her x-ray because of the active cough which is  a few days now.  She will wait for the xray result before she prescribe antibiotics on her.

Today we came back with the result. The sad part is her Pediatrician asked us to have her tested for PPD (Purified Protein Derivatives) which is commonly known as a Tuberculin Test.  This is to confirm the X-ray result if she's been exposed to Tubercle Bacilli.  I was puzzled because I am positive that there is no one in our household who have TB.

Expenses: Chest Xray APL for 6 year old - PHP660.00
                 PPD Test- Php1500.00
                 Combivent Neb - Php 56.00 each x 4x a day
                  Budesonide Nebule - Php75.00 each x 2x a day

I am praying that the PPD test will be negative. We will return on sunday am.
